The purpose of this job is to, under moderate limited supervision, prepare and file federal, state and local income tax returns with a focus on flow-through taxation.
In this role you will:
- Prepare federal, state and local income tax returns of increased complexity with a focus on flow- through taxation (i.e., S Corporations, Partnerships)
- Prepare responses to notices and audit information requests from various federal, state and local authorities
- Assist accounting department with tax account reconciliations
- Assist with other accounting projects
- Research and analyze technical tax issues
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required
- Master’s degree in accounting or taxation preferred
- Minimum two year’s experience in public accounting or corporate/ public accounting preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or pursuit of CPA preferred
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Tax research
- Accounting and tax software skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to take initiative and work with limited supervision
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to conduct tax research utilizing appropriate resources
- General office work requiring sitting or standing for long periods of time
- Lift up to 20 pounds
