The Finance & Accounting Intern will gain valuable hands-on experience in the financial operations of Pilot Company. This role will provide exposure to various aspects of financial analysis, accounting, and reporting. The intern will work closely with finance and accounting professionals to contribute to the department's goals.
- FP&A - Generate monthly forecast and analyze trends in sales volumes, regional spreads and margins, and G&A costs.
- Treasury - Reconcile all Accounts Receivables and resolve and escalate all disputes.
- Middle Office - Run, reconcile, and communicate daily P&L and Risk from trades.
- Trade Control - Reconcile positions and values for exchange clearing activity.
- Confirmations - Review Counterparty affirmations and work with Traders/Analysts to identify and reconcile economic anomalies.
- Settlements - Create Settlements invoice and investigate and analyze volume and price differences. Work with counterparties and management to resolve any difference
Responsibilities
- Financial Analysis: Assist in financial analysis projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Accounting: Support accounting processes, such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Reporting: Prepare financial reports and presentations for management.
- Data Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Audit Support: Assist with audit preparation and coordination.
- Special Projects: Contribute to special projects as needed, such as cost-benefit analysis or process improvement initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides entry- to intermediate-level professional services, under supervision of professional staff, as appropriate to the day-to-day operating objectives of the business unit
- Undertakes and/or participates in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise appropriate to the needs of the organization
- Participates in the planning and implementation of unit projects and initiatives within area of expertise
- Interacts directly with colleagues and other internal or external constituencies in the planning of assignments and the resolution of day-to-day operational problems
- Receives guidance, training, and mentoring from professional personnel in planning and carrying out activities and assignments
